Building upon my Master’s in Education and Technology from University College London (2024/25) plus my PGCE from the University of Exeter (2013) and over a decade of teaching experience, Spark Stars Ltd. was created to reimagine meaningful and inclusive STEM learning for the primary classroom. Spark Stars empowers the teacher to do more than they thought possible with the help of intuitive technology without adding to their workload.Spark Stars is a novel EdTech solution which allows primary school educators to acknowledge and celebrate key STEM skills in their classroom by awarding points in a frictionless way. The giving of points is seamlessly integrated into their usual classroom practice and curriculum and the clever technology means that organic moments can be captured, recorded and tracked with a simple tap- allowing teachers to focus on what they do best!Spark Stars (Powered by Raspberry Pi) turns everyday achievements into visible progress that teachers and pupils can reflect on together. It is a child-centered rewards system that helps every pupil build their Star Status through learning, teamwork and STEM discovery.Spark Stars helps pupils strengthen positive learning habits through feedback. Using a tap-to-reward device, teachers can encourage effort across 5 key areas which all make for a great STEM learner:-Curiosity

-Positive AttitudeEvery child has a weekly Star Status, focusing on progress rather than comparison. Visual, motivating and easy to use, Spark Stars encourages pupils aged 7–10 (UK primary school Years 3-6) to stay engaged, reflect on their learning and feel proud of their improvement. Each week the tracker is reset so that Monday is always a fresh start full of exciting STEM possibilities for the week ahead.Spark Stars is an integral way of classroom life- and educators are offered information and guidance on how to recognise the 5 skills in their classroom. Just if they need a bit of extra support. However it is the teachers not the tech that is in control here. Spark Stars is a tool to enhance your practice with minimal interference.
